FttH: Fiber to the Home (Way)
Lately many distributors start to use optical fiber connections even to residence buildings.
The term ‘fiberoptic at home’ is really impressive representing edgy technology, high data rate and network speed and future security.
There is only one problem:
No telephone, computer/radio/television device has connection socket to optical fiber!
That’s why media converters and ports are used. The usual CPEs have optical fiber interfaces for data input and RL45-/RJ11-/coaxial-jacks output for end devices like PCs, telephones and televisions. In this way the optical fiber signal is available to be used to the end device of he customer. That’s why an CPE can be compared to a cable or a DSL modem.
Here come the HomeWay!
The CPE signal output matches the HomeWay functions transferred from the home distributor to the connected rooms. One combination of ‘fiberoptic at home’ and the HomeWay system is a simple matter. In this way the residence has highest possible speed. HomeWay also distributes signals at home in highest possible speed based on transfer techniques and interfaces which are available at the customer’s devices.
As a conclusion the customers connected to the HomeWay system can fully enjoy the advantages of the optical fiber technology!
