DVR-NVR Devices
Recording is an integral part of CCTV systems. Nowadays, there are available many technologically edgy devices including DVRs (Digital Video Recorders) and NVRs (Network Video Recorders).
DVR is a digital video recorder. It is an electronic device (or application software) that records video in digital format, directly on any storage device or website. With DVRs, you can keep track of a specific area, wherever you are, live, via your computer, mobile or tablet. Also DVRs provide continuous recording of movement in the selected area, using the installed security cameras, while you can store the recorded material in various storage media.
NVR is a network video recorder that receives image from wireless IP cameras or using a network cable. NVR is connected to the cameras via a network distributor, a router or even rarely they are connected directly. The recorded video can be stored in various storage media.
The basic difference between the two recording devices mentioned above, is how they are connected to the cameras and the different process of receiving the optical material from the cameras. NVRs work and receive optical web content while DVRs are digital.
